Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya or "The Smoke That Thunders," is located on the Zambezi River along the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Spanning roughly 1,708 meters wide and plunging 108 meters into a series of dramatic basalt gorges, it forms the largest single sheet of falling water in the world. The massive mist spray generated by the cascading water can be seen from miles away and sustains a lush surrounding rainforest that experiences daily rainfall from the vapor. As one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the site is a major hub for global tourism, drawing visitors with its breathtaking panoramas, vibrant local wildlife, and extreme adventure activities.
